Crear una automatización de correos

Updated 24 Oct 2026 · 4 min read

What you'll achieve

Have Archie Send send emails on its own, at the right moment: when someone subscribes to one of your lists or when a contact's special date arrives, like their birthday.

Before you start

  • Have at least one list created.
  • Have credits: each email an automation sends costs 1 credit.
  • For date-based automations, your contacts must have the date saved in YYYY-MM-DD format in their attributes, for example {“cumple”: “1990-05-04”}.

What the canvas looks like

At the top there's a block bar (Send email, Wait, Condition, Add to a list, Remove from a list). Below, the flow reads from top to bottom: first the dark block «Starts when», then your blocks (emails show as «Email 1», «Email 2»… with the subject and a preview; waits are small pills) and at the end «End of flow». Between one block and the next there's a button + to add something right there. When you tap a block, a panel opens on the right to edit it.

Steps (with a recipe)

  1. In the side menu, go to Automations. Screenshot: automation list and «Welcome series» recipe
  2. Under «Start with a recipe», click Use this recipe on «Welcome series».
  3. Tap the block Starts when and choose the list people subscribe to.
  4. Tap each email block and change it to your liking in the panel. You can use {nombre} and {lista}.
  5. Enter a name at the top and click Save. It stays as a draft and doesn't send anything yet.
  6. When you're ready, click Save and activate and confirm.

Create one from scratch

  1. Click New automation (top right) and give it a name.
  2. Tap Starts when and choose whether it starts when someone subscribes to a list or when a contact's date arrives.
  3. Add blocks in any of these ways: click the button + between two blocks and choose the type; drag a tile from the top bar to the «Drop here» area; or tap a tile to add it at the end.
  4. To change the order, drag a block to another place (or use the up and down arrows on the block). To remove it, use the trash icon.
  5. A block in coral red tells you what's missing. There must be at least one email.
  6. Save and activate.

How it works

  • People enter the automation when they subscribe through a public form (on double opt-in lists, when they confirm). Imports and manually added contacts don't enter.
  • Each person enters an automation only once. For date-based ones, once a year.
  • A condition only lets through those who meet it; those who don't leave the automation.
  • If someone unsubscribes from the list, they leave the automation.
  • Date-based ones are sent at the time you choose (Colombia time). If you activate it after that time, it starts the next day.

Expected result

In the Automations list you'll see the status «Active» and how many people are «In progress» and how many «Finished».

To edit an active automation

Click Pause to edit, make the changes, save and activate it again. If you only change text, timing or lists, people already inside continue where they were. If you change the order or type of blocks, people inside leave the automation.

Common issues

I can't drag blocks (phone or tablet)

Use the button + between blocks to add them and the block's arrows to move it.

Nothing is sent

Check that it's «Active», that you have credits (My account → Credits) and that your sending isn't paused or hasn't hit the daily limit. If an email can't go out, it waits and is discarded after 3 days.

It won't let me save or activate

The message tells you which block is incomplete; the chosen list may also have been deleted, so choose another one.

It won't let me edit it

It's active; pause it first.

The birthday email isn't sent

Check that the field exists on the contacts, that the name matches exactly and that the date is in YYYY-MM-DD format.

When to contact support

If it still doesn't send after checking the above, write to us with the automation name and the email of a contact who should have received it. Never send us your password.
