Cómo buscar contactos con filtros y guardar segmentos

Updated 24 Oct 2026 · 3 min read

What you'll achieve

Find groups of contacts (for example “everyone from the same email provider who signed up this month and isn't on the customer list”), save them as a segment to reuse them, and export them or apply an action to them.

Before you start

  • Sign in with a user that can view contacts. To save segments or apply actions you also need permission to manage contacts.
  • Filters only show contacts from your account.

Steps

  1. In the menu go to Subscribers (All subscribers). Next to the search bar you'll see three round buttons: the magnifying glass (search), the funnel (Filters) and the download arrow (Export). Click the funnel. Screenshot: search bar with the magnifying glass, Filters and Export icons
  2. Choose Match: All rules (all must be met) or Any of the rules (one is enough).
  3. In the first rule choose what you want to check:
  • Email o Name: contains, doesn't contain, is equal to, is different from, starts with or ends with. Upper and lower case don't matter.
  • Contact status: Active or Blocked.
  • List: is on a list (with any status, confirmed, unconfirmed or unsubscribed), isn't on it, or isn't on any list.
  • Creation date o update date: on, before or after the day (Colombia time).
  • Custom attribute: type the attribute name (for example city) and compare it; with numbers you can use “greater than” or “less than”; you can also ask for “has a value” or “has no value”.

  1. Click Add rule to add more conditions (up to 20).
  2. Click Apply filters. The table shows the matching contacts and the total appears at the top, next to the title.
  3. To save the filter, click Save as new segment, type a name and confirm. Next time, choose it in Saved segment and it's applied automatically. Screenshot: Saved segment dropdown
  4. To change a segment, load it, adjust the rules, click Update the selected segment and confirm the name. To remove it, click Delete segment (the contacts aren't deleted).
  5. With the filter applied you can click the download icon (Export) to download the filtered contacts, or select all and use Blocklist (block), Delete (delete) or Manage lists (manage lists); for now those three buttons appear in English.

Expected result

You only see the contacts that meet your rules, with their total. Your segments are saved in your account.

Common issues

“Complete rule N or remove it”

That rule has an empty field.

“You already have a segment with that name”

Choose another one (upper and lower case aren't distinguished).

“You've reached the maximum number of saved segments”

You can save up to 50; delete one you no longer use.

An attribute doesn't appear in the results

The name must be written the same as on the contact (for example city). With “greater than” or “less than” only numeric values are compared.

My list filter returns zero results

Check the chosen subscription status (for example “confirmed”).

Before deleting or blocking in bulk,

Look at the total shown at the top: the action applies to everyone who matches the filter, not just those on the page.

When to contact support

If the filter shows an error you don't understand or the results don't match what you expect. Send a screenshot of the rules and your account name.
