What you'll achieve
Know which emails couldn't be delivered, why, and what to do in each case.
Where to see them
In the menu My account → Sending errors. You'll see the list for the last 30 days with the date, the origin (campaign, subscription confirmation or API send), the recipient and the cause. You can filter by origin. Screenshot: Sending errors screen with the list and counters by category
An email that fails isn't charged: the credit is refunded automatically.
What each type of error means
- Address rejected: the address doesn't exist or the server rejected it. Remove it from your list (when it repeats, the system blocks it automatically according to your bounce policy).
- Mailbox full: the recipient's mailbox is full. It usually resolves itself; you don't need to do anything.
- Temporary problem: the recipient's server was overloaded or throttling sends. It's temporary.
- Blocked as spam: the recipient's provider considered your email spam or a policy was breached. Check the content (avoid spam words, heavy images, shortened links) and that your domain is verified with DKIM active.
- Email too large: reduce the size of images or attachments.
- No connection: couldn't connect to the mail server. It's usually temporary; if it repeats for hours, write to us.
- Sending service: there was a problem on Archie's side. It's already logged for us to review; you don't need to do anything.
- Other: unclassified error. If it repeats, write to us with the date and time.
Frequently asked questions
- How long are they kept? 30 days; then they're deleted automatically.
- Do I see all errors if there was a big outage? Up to 500 per hour are saved so the system isn't overloaded; the counters show what was recorded.
- Why don't I see the technical error text? We show a clear explanation and leave the technical detail to our support team, who can review it if you need.
