What you'll achieve
Get the chat button on your website so your visitors can talk to your bot.
Before you start
- Our team gives you a channel code that starts with abw_ and the service address.
- You must tell us your site's exact address (for example https://yoursite.com). The chat only works on the addresses we register. If your site works with and without www, let us know both.
- You need to be able to add code to your site.
Steps
- Copy this code and replace the service address and channel code with the ones we gave you:
<script src=”https://TU-SERVICIO/widget.js” data-canal=”abw_TU_CODIGO” async></script>
- If your site is WordPress: install a plugin to insert code in the footer, paste the code in the footer field and save. Screenshot: the plugin's footer field with the code pasted
- If your site is on another platform: pega el código justo antes de la etiqueta de cierre </body> de tus páginas.
- Open your site in a new window (or in incognito mode) and look for the round chat button at the bottom right. Screenshot: site with the chat button
Expected result
Tapping the button opens the chat. If we set up the privacy notice, the first thing the person sees is the consent text with the “Accept and continue” button.
Common issues
The button doesn't appear
See the guide “The chat doesn't appear”.
It appears on one page but not on another
The code must be on every page where you want it. In WordPress, the footer plugin adds it to the whole site.
When to write to us
If you followed the steps and it doesn't appear, write to us with the address of the page where you installed it and the time of your test. Don't send us keys or passwords for your site.
