What you'll achieve
See how many opportunities reach each stage of your pipeline, what percentage moves on to the next and how long they take, to find the stage where your pipeline drops off.
Before you start
- The section is called Reach by stage and it's in the view Sales of the CRM.
- It only counts opportunities since this history was turned on; it doesn't rebuild earlier moves.
- Administrators see the whole company; the team sees the opportunities they're allowed to.
Steps
- In the side menu open Sales CRM and click Sales.
- Scroll down to the section Reach by stage. Screenshot: Reach by stage section
- Read Opportunities with history to know how many opportunities are being measured.
- Look for your pipeline's name and, below it, one card per stage.
- On each card read the big number: the unique opportunities that reached that stage, and the percentage of the total with history.
- Read Moved to the next stage: how many went on and what percentage of those that arrived that is. A low percentage points to a stage where sales stall.
- Read Average time completed, in hours, when it appears: it's the average time they stay in that stage.
- Compare stage by stage and decide where to act: for example, more follow-up if opportunities stall at Proposal.
Expected result
You identify the stage with the biggest loss and the longest delay, and you have data to strengthen follow-up right there.
Common issues
I don't see the section or it appears empty.
There are no opportunities with history yet. It fills up as you move opportunities between stages.
A stage doesn't show average time.
No opportunities have completed it yet.
The numbers don't match the board.
The board shows where each opportunity is today; this section counts the ones that reached each stage at some point, since the history was turned on.
Older opportunities are missing.
Anything before the history was turned on isn't rebuilt.
