What you'll achieve<\/h2>\n

Change the texts, add new blocks and decide what comes after each one.<\/p>\n

Before you start<\/h2>\n

Have a bot open on the canvas (see “Create your first bot from a template”) and the Editor or Administrator role. To understand each block, read “How an automated conversation is built”.<\/p>\n

Steps<\/h2>\n

  1. Select a block:<\/strong>\u00a0click it on the canvas. You can also use the block selector, which works with the keyboard.<\/li>\n
  2. Change the text:<\/strong>\u00a0in the panel on the right, edit the field Text<\/strong>. You'll see Unsaved changes<\/strong>\u00a0at the top. Screenshot: selected block and edit panel with the “Text” field<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Add a block:<\/strong>\u00a0in Add block<\/strong>\u00a0click Message, Question, Buttons, Condition, Wait, Send data, Hand off to a person or End. It appears in the center of what you're viewing.<\/li>\n
  4. Connect:<\/strong>\u00a0there are two ways.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    • Drag from a block's output point to another block's input point.<\/li>\n
    • Or in the panel choose the destination in the field Next destination<\/strong>\u00a0(it also works with the keyboard).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      1. Variables:<\/strong>\u00a0in questions, the variable name stores the answer. Then you can use it in other texts by typing {{name}}.<\/li>\n
      2. Delete:<\/strong>\u00a0select the block and click Delete block<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Arrange:<\/strong>\u00a0click Arrange blocks<\/strong>\u00a0and the editor arranges them automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Expected result<\/h2>\n

        Each block has a destination and the canvas looks tidy. Click Review<\/strong>: it should say “The flow is well built”.<\/p>\n

        Common issues<\/h2>\n
        \nA block “has no connection in \u00abnext\u00bb”<\/summary>\n

        Choose its destination. A bot can't be published with loose blocks along the path.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

        \n“It forms a loop that never waits for the person”<\/summary>\n

        There's a loop made only of messages or waits. Add a question or buttons inside the loop.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

        \nA block ended up off screen<\/summary>\n

        Use Arrange blocks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

        \nI can't edit the texts<\/summary>\n

        Your key is read-only.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n
